- Currency and exchange
- The
currency in the Netherlands is the Euro, like it is in many European
countries.
- In the arrival hall at
Schiphol Airport there are several cash dispensers where you can
withdraw Euros. Also in the city of Utrecht there are many cash dispensers.
In the University Centre De Uithof there is one very close to the meeting
venue. Check before you
leave whether your bank card can be used in the Netherlands.
- For the exchange
of foreign currencies and cashing of traveler's checks you can go
to the banks and the "Grenswisselkantoor" (GWK). Opening hours
of the banks are usually from monday through friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. On
monday they open later. The GWK is located in the central hall of Utrecht
Central Railwaystation. It is opened every day from 8 AM till 9 PM. On
sunday it closes at 5 PM.
